Food Intolerance Test

A food intolerance test measures how your blood reacts to individual foods. Booked through Zen Vitals, the panel is run by AIWO's lab for an average of 10% less than booking direct.

What the test is for

Food allergy testing is used to identify whether you react to a specific food, and to distinguish a true allergy from a sensitivity. This is a food intolerance blood test: one sample is measured against a long list of individual foods rather than broad food groups, so the result is specific enough to act on.

It is not a diagnosis on its own. AIWO's clinicians read the panel alongside your symptom history, because a raised marker only matters when it lines up with what you notice after eating. That pairing is what turns raw numbers into a useful food sensitivity assessment.

Foods included in the panel

The comprehensive food intolerance test covers dairy proteins, egg, and a wide seafood and algae panel. Each item is reported individually rather than grouped.

Who it suits

  • 01

    Unexplained digestive symptoms

Bloating, loose stools or discomfort after meals with no obvious trigger. Dietary intolerance testing gives you a shortlist to work from instead of guessing, and sits well alongside a broader gut health assessment if symptoms are persistent.

  • 02

    People already cutting foods out

If you have removed dairy or wheat on a hunch, food sensitivity testing tells you whether that was warranted. Used as elimination diet support, it shortens the trial-and-error phase and stops you narrowing your diet further than you need to.

  • 03

Athletes and people on strict diets

When intake is tightly controlled, a diet management test helps you avoid removing foods you tolerate perfectly well. AIWO's nutrition team uses the panel as one input into personalized nutrition rather than as a rulebook.

  • 04

    Parents and carers

Food allergy screening is often the first step when a child reacts to something and nobody is sure what. The food reaction test result is reviewed by an AIWO doctor before any food is removed from a growing child's diet.

How the sample is collected

You can attend AIWO's facility in Chennai, or arrange a food intolerance test at home. A certified medical professional comes to your address, collects the sample using hygienic equipment and carries it to the laboratory, which saves you a journey and a queue.

AIWO confirms any preparation needed when your appointment is booked. As a general rule, keep eating your normal diet in the days beforehand, including the foods you suspect, so the sample reflects how you actually eat.

What you get back

Your report lists each food tested with its measured reaction level, so you see gradations rather than a yes or no. AIWO's clinicians will walk you through the results on an online consultation and explain which items are worth trialling out of your diet, and for how long.

Where the picture is unclear they may suggest further digestive health testing before anything changes. Treating the panel as one input among several is what separates useful nutrition diagnostics from an expensive list of foods to be frightened of.
